After a relatively dry April in southeastern South Dakota, May looks to begin with a bang. As professionals in water damage cleanup and restoration on standby 24/7, we are ready and “here to help”. Have you done all you can to prepare your home for a storm or rain event?

If you haven’t, fret not, we will shortly discuss some quick tips that can help you be prepared.

  1. Make sure you gutters and downspout are clear of debris, so they are able to operate as intended.
  2. Make sure your downspout and sump pump discharge pipe are positioned to let water flow freely away from your home.
  3. If you have a sump pump, check to make sure it is functioning as it should. You can test it by pouring a 5 gallon bucket of water in to the well until the pump kicks on and engages.
  4. Know where your gas and electrical shut offs are located in case of emergency.
