Fireworks Safety Tips

We are in the heat of the summer and our favorite summer holiday is right around the corner. We love to celebrate the 4th of July here at SERVPRO of Sioux Falls. And who doesn’t love seeing the joy on the faces of young ones as the fireworks dance across the sky?
As the 4th of July is basically the only time of year that fireworks are legally allowed to be used by amateurs, the risk for fires in the home greatly increases during this time of year. We want to provide you with a few simple tips to keep you, your family, and your home safe!
Fireworks Safety Tips:
- Do not let young children to handle fireworks. Even sparklers can be dangerous as they can burn at temperatures around 2,000 Degrees Fahrenheit.
- Don’t use fireworks while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
- Never hold lit fireworks in your hand.
- Be a safe distance away from any structures that could catch fire.
- Do not point or throw fireworks at other nearby.
