High Humidity Causes Mold
This basement in Tea, SD had a normal summer time humidity level of over seventy percent. This caused fuzzy mold growth over the whole floor joist system above. We were able to clean it up quickly for the customer. After the cleaning was completed, we had air testing done that showed the mold spore count had returned to normal levels and the cleanup was successful. During the cleanup we had successfully lowered the humidity to around forty percent and maintained that. We were able to help advise the homeowner on how he could keep the humidity level down with the use of dehumidifiers. This should prevent the same issue from happening again.
