Flood cut in Brandon
What is a flood cut?
In water restoration the phrase flood cut is common. But what does that mean? This basement in Brandon had a water loss from a sump pump that backed up from a storm that dumped heavy rain in a short period of time. There was 6 inches of water that flooded the entire 1000 square foot space. The water soaked up the drywall and saturated the insulation and framing behind the wall. We performed a flood cut which is removing the drywall 2 feet up to access the wet insulation and plastic vapor barrier to remove the wet materials and dry the framing.
