Damage from fridge leak

One of the most common non-storm generated sources of water losses we see in homes are a leak from your refrigerator. Unfortunately, these losses can be quite tricky. As refrigerators are often wedged in between cabinets, we cant really see what’s happening below or behind the unit. If your fridge is leaking but its not making itself evident by showing in the front of the fridge, the leak can continue for weeks, even months in some cases. Oftentimes, a fridge leak is not noticed until damage shows through in the ceiling below where the fridge sits. If you get to this stage before noticing your leak, don’t fret, its not the end of the world.
At SERVPRO of Sioux Falls, our crew is experienced in handling damage from fridge leaks. Depending on the condition and composition of your flooring below the fridge, we have many different drying techniques to try and salvage what we can. Below the fridge, our team can make necessary drywall cuts to allow us to dry the subfloor from below so as to avoid removing it. Any necessary rebuild work after mitigation can be taken on by our reconstruction team! We’re Here to Help get your home back!
