Water Damage Prevention

Did you know that frozen pipes can be a big cause of water damage claims?  With freezing weather already in the forecast for the Sioux Falls area, it's a great time to inspect your property and be ready for winter weather.  Unhook all garden hoses to prevent water from being trapped in the faucet line.  Check insulation behind and around pipes to ensure that they are protected from freezing temperatures.  Be sure that your gutters are clear of leaves and your downspouts are flowing freely.  Make sure your sump pump drain hose is directed in a way that prevents water from standing inside the hose.
